Many of the “iconic” photos of rural life, not just in Cambodia but throughout Asia, involves locals going about their daily work activities in the rice paddies.

While on the road we are always on the lookout for opportunities to photograph workers in the foreground with some “interesting” landscape scene in the background (often sugar palms, nice clouds, or a sunrise/sunset).

In this instance we spotted a bullock cart hauling bags of rice along an irrigation ditch for a roadside pickup :
