Drove to the Christchurch city centre this morning for a look around – very pretty – and then to check out Paintball – which was unfortunately closed (much to Jamies disgust).  We then drove the 76km to Akaroa – a little town south east of Christchurch which is built on a bay which is part of a very old volcano and looks amazing on the map (see here).  Some spectacular scenery (and some slightly scary roads along the way too).  The village itself is quant – and it was a lovely drive, but not an awful lot to do there (I believe there are lots of activities in summer though).

Had a lazy afternoon back at Top 10, cooked up most of our leftover food tonight for dinner (although we will probably have to leave a small amount behind tomorrow)… and I’m pretty much packed and ready to go… Looks like most things will fit in, so I may even be able to bring both biys home again … ;-).

Tomorrow is our last day … Boo Hoo… we will be going to the Antarctic Centre in the morning – dropping of the camper around 12:30ish ready to check in for our flight around 14:00 for a 16:00 departure, and a 16:45 arrival back in Brissy….

It’s been a fabulous time… the boys and I have all thoroughly enjoyed it – and are already looking forward to next time….
