Africa – December 2014

We will be spending the vast majority of time in Tanzania (with international flights in and out of Nairobi in Kenya).

Tanzania is on Africa’s Central Eastern coast (about 5,000 Km from the Ebola hotspots in West Afrcia).  Tanzania is boordered by Kenya and Uganda to the North; Rwanda, Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Zambia to the West; and  Malawi and Mozambique to the South.

Below is an outline of a “proposed” itinerary  – although pretty much everything (apart probably for flights) is subject to change….

  • Saturday 29th November –Depart Brisbane (14:20) – 9.5hrs to Bangkok
    • Arrive  Bangkok (20:30) – wait 4 hrs
  • Sunday 30th November -Depart Bangkok (00:35) – 9hrs to Nairobi
    • Arrive Nairobi (05:00) – wait 3-4 hrs – 1hr flight to Tanzania
    • Lunch at St Judes and Tour
  • Monday 1st  – Wed 3rd December – St Judes and Arusha – Interact with Students, Home Visits, Maasai Choir / mock Wedding, Maasai Markets
  • Thursday 4th – Get rest of the Group, head to Mosh, Lunch at Springlands and School Visit (Mandela, Azimo, Kaloleni)
  • Friday 5th – Athletic Coaching at Schools – Bob Talk
  • Saturday 6th – Sports Carnival (morning) Moshi Exploration (afternoon)
  • Sunday 7th – Hospitality day with Mandela, Azimo & Kaloleni Teachers
  • Monday 8th – School Visit and “HEALTHY MIND – HEALTHY BODY’ Lessons
  • Tuesday 9th – Group Killiminjaro Trek starts
  • Wednesday 10th – St Judes group 2
  • Thursday 11th – Arusha exploration
  • Friday 12th – Arusha exploration
  • Saturday 13th – Safari
  • Sunday 14th – Safari
  • Monday 15th – Safari
  • Tuesday 16th – Lodge Safari – Tarangire
  • Wednesday 17th – Ngorongoro Crater
  •  Tuesday 18th – Arusha Exploration
  •  Friday 19th – Depart Kiliminjaro – arrive Zanzibar
  • Saturday 20th – Zanzibar
  • Sunday 21st – Zanzibar

    • Depart Zanzibar (16:40), arrive Nairobi (18:20)

  • Tuesday 23rd – Arrive Bangkok (13:15), Depart Bangkok (23:59)
  • Wednesday 24th – Arrive Brisbane (12:05)
