Today we left Moshi and head back ti St Judes in Arusha – a short (1.5hrs) bus trip.  This was the first look at St Judes by Group 2 – and what was probably most obvious was the contrast between the government schools we have been visiting the last few days – and the wonderful grounds and amenities of St Judes (which would put many of our Aussie schools to shame).

It is sooo nice catching up with our St Judes “helpers” again… These are St Judes highs school students who have been selected to join and interact with our groups.  Some are sponsored kids, some will accompany us up Kili,  and all these students share our St Judes experience with us  and help us learn about St Judes and local culture…    This is not only a fabulous learning and growing experience for our kids, but the St Judes kids get a great deal out of it as well…

Home Visits

I had the chance to again attend some Home Visits. These are opportunities for our kids to go and visit the homes of their sponsored children…  I went along to Matayo (sponsored by Natasha) and Shabani’s (sponsored by Eliza) home and got to meet their families and get a taste of how they live…
